With the downturn of the economy, one has to work harder to get rich! All their lives, Mr. Jiang and Mrs. Jiang have been fighting for livelihood and the ways dealing with their three children - Yu-Hao, Yu-Zhen and Yu-Chun. Mr. Jiang, a retired civil servant, is simple and honest; a peaceful life is enough to satisfy him. On the contrary, Mrs. Jiang is always dreaming of being rich. She hopes her children to gain wealth as soon as possible and not to repeat her poor living.

Yu-Hao works hard and eventually establishes a biotech company. His wife, Jin-Hua, also anticipates the success of his business in order that she will has chances to visit her maiden home with pride. Yu-Zhen is an independent and capable metropolitan woman, she earns money on her own and despises vulgar rich people. Via work, she meets a wealthy and affectionate man, Cheng Jian-Ting.
