In the future, sporting events are the most watched event as humankind strives for physical perfection. All the girls hope that one-day, they will be accepted into the prestigious University Satellite to win the crown of Cosmic Beauty. This is the dream of Akari Kanzaki; however, she is probably the worst in her school - clumsy, airheaded and a daydreamer. She wants to enter the competition badly, not as much for her but because her mother (Tomoe Midoh) was a legend, which all the entrants look up to for inspiration. Now, Akari strives to work towards making herself as great as her mother, even with the competition and those that want to see her fail.

The review for Battle Athletes could actually fit here very well, since the two share near similar plot lines. The big difference is the number of episodes and being a TV series. First of all, it starts at an earlier time; whereas Battle Athletes starts with Akari on her way to the University Satellite, this starts at her school and her attempts to get there. We learn more of Akari's struggles and the entire story moves at a slower pace, allowing us more time to be intimate with the characters. Character interaction is also enhanced, There are great points in it, spread between comedy and drama, and neither will let you down - some moments are emotional while others make you cheer on.
