  • Synopsis
  • A clash between Qiuju's husband Qinglai anf the village head Wang Shantang leads to a fight in which Qinglai is injured. Qiu thinks Wang owes her husband an apology, but the village head, whose pride has been hurt by a remark made by Qinglai remains unrepentant.

    When Qiuju takes the matter up with police, Constable Li Shunlin attempts meditation between the pasties. Li considers the matter settled when Wang agrees to pay Qinglai's medical bill. Considering it insufficient redress, Qiuju returns the money and sues Wang. The case comes to trial...
