  • As rumours of assassination fill the court, King Gwanghae, the 15th monarch of Joseon Dynasty, secretly commands his servant to find a man to take his place in the royal chamber at night. King’s chief secretary funds Ha Seon, a street performer who bears a striking resemblance to the king. Just as feared, the king is poisoned shortly after and Ha Seon fills the role until the bed-ridden king recovers. Over time, Ha Seon finds his voice and takes control of governing the country with fair judgments. Even the chief secretary is moved by his genuine concern for people. However, the chief opposition Park Chung Soo, notices changes in the king’s behaviour and starts to ask questions. The queen is also conflicted between the two kings.
